You might all think I'm mad but say we get taken over and the new owners splash the cash. I would like to see lambert in charge to see how he spends the cash. remember we were linked to countino before Liverpool brought him it was only down to us not having funds that we never got him. Plus other players we have ban linked with its all down to us not havin the cash off scrooge. Any thoughts my fellow villa pals?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Linked that's all no bids all press and fan talk, new owners should get rid of PL, IF we have new owners

Agree0 Disagree0

Its given fans optimism following the links to the takeover and the fact that Lerner won't state his position with regards to a future with villa gives us even more hope!

So if it does happen which I sincerely hope it does I'd like to see laudrup or klopp which sounds ludicrous but given the potential state of affairs we would be in I think he may fancy it.
Finch

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm with Finch. Jurgen Klopp would be the dream manager for me
Lambert is schocking. If we did have a load of cash to splash it would be irresponsible to let him do the splashing.
Just remember, Tonev, Luna, Sylla, Kozak, Helenius, Bennett etc, etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's when he was buying cheap players to keep the wage bill down and be able to afford more players for back up. He couldn't go in splashing the cash on 10 £8m players because we didn't have enough money. We have been linked with Belhanda, Payet, Kiyotake and many more good players he just needs the money. I would give Lambert a little bit of time and see how he used the money.

Agree0 Disagree0

And what about our style of play?
Or more to the point, our lack of of style of play
His decisions have been poor as well.
Spending 7 million on Kozak when centre half and centre mid were a priority is a joke
I think Lerner's disinterest has hidden Lambert's inadequacies
Gotta get rid. New owners or not

Agree0 Disagree0

He has made some terrible decisions during his time but he has also made some good ones. Bringing in Benteke, giving Guzan another contract, Okore needs to be given a chance to show he quality, giving Delph regular starts, signing Bacuna. And he has made some bad decisions such as: bringing in Tonev, bringing in Kozak, bringing Helenius and then not using him, not useing N'Zogbia and other shocking decisions. But every manager is going to make a mistake. I would like him to stay at the club for when we get new owners so we can see how he spends it, who know he might do a good job.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think lambert has done well with the funds he's had available and due to severe injuries his player selection has been questionable at times but for instance both helenius and kozak came to the club with good goal scoring records Real Madrid wanted helenius for the B team so he can't be that bad and kozak was top scorer for the Uega cup. Okore hasn't had chance to prove himself but I feel next season with him in defence and if we get Bertrand we'll be more solid at the back I'd like to see us bring in abit of steel for cm who can score and a good winger

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry gents (or ladies) but I really don't understand the thinking that says given a huge transfer kitty by new owners "see how Lambert spends it, who knows, he might do a good job"
This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to spend some serious cash. Do you really want to leave it to chance?
Look at what Tottenham have done with the Bale money. Other than Paulingo and Eriksen, would you want any of the players they spent £100 million on?
I'd need psychiatric treatment if we did same

Agree0 Disagree0

Okay then. But who would you want to replace him because a top class manger will not just come straight into a club with new owners.

Agree0 Disagree0

With the right money any manager would come

Agree0 Disagree0

New owners would essentially mean a new era. Lambert would have to be replaced with some proven management at winning trophies.
I said in the above post I'd welcome moyes and although he's not had that success I think he along with quite a few other managers would improve our playing style. Watching us play this season has been so difficult with our one dimensional approach.
Finch

Agree0 Disagree0

If we were to have a new manager I wouldn't want Moyes. I would want a Spanish or Italian manager come in and install a new dimension to the team. So they can pass it then attack at the right time. Such as Unai Emery or Jagoba Arrasate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Off the top of my head I would love Klopp or Simeone. But this is not a decision to be made off the top of anyones head. It's the job of the owners to locate the right guy and then get him. I reckon their would be no shortage of suitors for a revitalised and wedged up Aston Villa.
I really don't understand the mentality that seems to hint that Lambert is as good as it gets and that those who want change are getting above themselves
We should want better than Lambert. A lot better

A lot better manager than Lambert? A Spanish or an Italian one? The best one I can think of is Roberto Mancini.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mendax, why would klopp or simeone come to villa, we all know you hate lambert but top European managers will only go to teams with big budgets, and don't forget they're wages too

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Mate
I was only talking Klopp as an absolute ideal if we were to have new owners who were seriously wedged up and willing to spend Man City style big (I know, I'm dreaming)
As for me "hating Lambert". That's untrue
I just don't rate him as a football manager of my foootball club, that's all.
Hate is an emotion I reserve for a select fiew

Agree0 Disagree0

Mendex the poor buys you mentioned minus Kozak, who I don't think is a bad as everyone makes out, probably add upto about £5 million and I do believed we did need another striker. Look who we've got playing up there now! Holt and Weimar are rubbish and all gabbys got is his pace.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think they came to a bit more than £5 million but it's sort of academic
They were players that he judged would be good enough to play for us and he was badly wrong. It's his judgement I question not the prices he pays. I accept that he has been hamstrung to some extent by Lerner by the way. The folly of the policy is demonstrated most vividly at left back
He bombs out Warnock, signs Bennett, realised he's crap, signs Luna, realised he was crap, has to get Bertrand in.
Wasteful madness

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree in terms that they are not good enough for the premier league but to do the job he was set by Lerner, which was to rebuild the squad and reduce wages on a low budget, he had to make risky low buys and so e of them worked out some of them didnt, but I just want to see what he could do with a bit more money and be able to buy proven players rather that having to take risks on unproven players

Agree0 Disagree0

I guess I'm not as big a gambler as you mate.
Lambert just screams lower league manager to me
Let's stay up, get Bill Gates buying us see what happens from there

Decent performance from Villa today against a very good and all organised team in Southampton. Happy that Robinson got his chance today. Just need to learn how to score. Next two games are very important and both winnable. COME ON VILLA!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I like the optimism but feel its unfounded, Saints were in absolute control and could've had a hat full in the first half.
