There is only one man buying aston villa in my opinion and that is larry ellison. He was spotted at villa park twice end of last season. Rumor yes but never denied by any of villas or his people. He is the main man in the frame to buy the club and the rumor has been around for ages. Again never denied by him or villa. Normally if a link to someone like that is false they will soon come out and put it right. I think there are others looking but not with the right offer on the table. It will be ellison and I just hope it's soon.
Morning KV. I understand your comments, and normally you'd be right. but football ain't normal dude! How about this contrary opinion? Mr Ellison's "people" haven't denied anything because they know nothing about the situation and frankly we on't even register on his horizon as this deal is just too small. The guy own a boat that cost 4 times what Mr Lerner paid for Villa! I'm all for positive mental attitude, and I SINCERELY hope you're right, but we've had many false dawns and I just think this is another one, but I guess we'll see. The Mad Russian seems more likely (sadly) and there's nothing more on the mystery UAE bidder. As with RL, we just need to keep calm and offer support. Remember how quickly RL bought Villa. These deals often are sorted before the public know anything about them.
Why should he have to make any statement to declare his interest or non interest in any investment?!
Things seem to be happening behind the scenes now and even respectable journos are reporting on it. Hopefully it will be a matter of weeks and not months till we have new ownership.

Hi dru643 I get where you are coming from m8 but I just think there is something to this ellison thing. I mean why pick him out if not why not bill gates or Carlos sim. They are both more wealthy. Like you say time will tell as we will know nothing till its announced. As for the mad Russian does anyone know if he even has money or what he is worth as I've done a lot of digging and can't find nothing on him. As for this uae thing I think it's bs to be honest
Totally agree on the UAE angle KV. I actually know people at BoA ML and whilst they are keeping Mum so to speak, I have been told there are a number of expressions of interest. I just thing the Mr Ellison angle is an awful lot of wishful thinking, but I'm sure that's what City fans said before TS and then the Sheikh bought them. I guess we have to remain positive because RL must move in Billionaire circles. I'm pretty sure he hasn't put a card up in the Co-Op saying "Club for Sale"! Whilst I loathe what Chelsea, City PSG, Monaco have done to football, I'd really like to be in the same club for once! As for the mad Russian's wealth I've heard he's "got access to" (worryingly) circa $5 billion, but who truly knows? Randy's wealth is quoted as anything from $750m to £10 billion depending on which US publication you read. I just hope like all other fans, it's sorted soon. It's going to affect season ticket and corporate sales quite badly I would suggest if it drags on much longer!
