I think he's at hamburg, that's how this has come about, they're after ayew, his agent isn't discouraging them and they're using olic as a sweetener, bearing in mind he's 36 and was injured most of last season apparently its a big big gamble, but rdm has made enquiries about the deal structures and hence german bloggers have got wind, that's all my mate could tell me.

So there we have it chaps right from RDM, the reason its taking so long is because we need to get players out before spending. Its the same old, same old! Surely we should be recruiting the right players now with a view to prepare for the push and worry about selling the rubbish later, in the short term what is more important, promotion back to the Premiership or balancing the books? Many pundits said that Villa wouldn't even survive the Championship they were so bad last term, and make no mistake 3 players signed isn't going to make much of a difference! Anyone who thinks they will needs to think back to our pathetic performances and see the picture. i'm not being negative just realistic, and i'm making s plea to our owner to put his money where his mouth is before its too late.

It's one thing to put your money where your mouth is, but to be stuck with a massive wage bill would be far worse. I don't think he was referring to needing the money from the transfers to buy, but reducing the size of the squad first.

So in a nutshell, our new mantra should be, 'Reduce to Reproduce'. cant see that one we'll be singing from the upper holte (don't you know! ), now is the time to be bold AND buy what we need, i think dr. xia must have factored in this scenario, if he didn't then this is going to be a sharp learning curve.
how about we try a new way, like on those shopping channels. We could introduce 'BUY ONE GET ONE FREE' and then happily sing their names followed by the words, 'and you can 'BOGOFF TOO'!
I think we could be on to a winner there fellas. maybe to the tune of say, i don't know, high ho silver lining maybe?

We almost have 3 full teams of 1st team players to put on the field of play .
He wants to trim the 1st team players down . Not because he needs to sell but because of the number of players he has to choose from. Most of which are pure dross

lisening to both sides here i agree with both i think rdm knows who the trouble causes are and is trying to offload them but player power is so mad they could refuse to go he hasn't got to sell he wants to i don't doubt moneys there but remember this team is that bad not many are going to want it. any1 wants 2 argue 3 wins 38 games facts. 3 players won't solve it but will help big style. These players are the Bad and the attitudes are that bad did you all think they would go quietly 1 thing they all have in common is money they love it more than the game which is a shame but rdm is trying to sort it slowly its a tough job i don't think we have a chance of going up untill next season as this season is just trying to get back to basics. oh and enough with giving people stick we all have our views it isn't all rosey stop saying it is we went down ask any villa fan it was the worst squad they have ever seen 3 players won't change it. this is banter not bullyin people into your own views!

I'm just hoping for at least one new striker of substance within the next two weeks but would prefer a couple. I think it's vital that we have good striking options for the up coming long campaign which is also going bring injuries. Yes a stable defence and solid mid-field is important but goals win games so i feel we need a reliable strike force that can find the net.

Right then, for what its worth, a striker who is looking for a club at the moment is yakubu. a mate of mine who moves in square circles says he's training with boramwood at the moment, yes i know he's a bit of a pit pony, but what about giving him a monthly contract and see what happens and i might as well go for broke, jordan rhodes name has been mentioned in dispatches, so have some fun with those fellas!

I agree villa80 but season hasn't started yet and people are moaning about signings and the players that have to go unless I've missed something and we have about 4 employees who work for villa and know all that's going on behind the scenes then why moan? But I do agree with your sentiment here.

any1 here rdm in china he didn't sound confident sounds like a big project he described avfc as a house that needed pulling down and starting again his words which is what i was saying but i think reality has hit him now on what a huge job it is. now are you all going to call our manager negative? whatever he does he better do it qwick but he didn't slate gabby or any other player even tho he might want to because if they don't go i think his been told he has to use them explains why the transfers are slow. also i was at the game where we won 5.1 okore lescott an gabby still had attuide on them i know as i witnessed it myself! not negative fact we havnt sold the trouble causers so the poision is still in the dressing room if i was rdm i would put the ones he don't like in the youth till there sold!

Just for the record, rdm is quoted when asked about the gabster's future and should he be moved on-rdm has said on record that he will not judge a player on what has happened in the last twelve months-not my words, his. now this is a bit of a dilema now, and between the lines it confirms what some are thinking, that we're stuck with them for the time being. it probably won't be till january.

Must admit now not being a downest but in worried for villa because we haven't signed any wingers and we need 2 strikers . Ahoy villa80, i'm probably wrong but i think rdm prefers wing backs (as they were called in my day), and prefers playing through the middle, it seems statistics show this is the optimum way to play in the championship, so don't hold your hopes up for 'wingers', seems we are looking at striker options.
some targets want a kings ransom to join, others are using our interest to try and bag a better deal somewhere else, this happens all the time, so no surprises there, its just a numbers game now, but like i think finch said, the last couple of days before the market closes should be rumbustious and dramatic, so get the red bull and aspirin in, i think nuttiness will decend and consume us! i can't wait!
