Just a side issue which mendax jokingly aluded too, one of the things our new owner makes via one of his companies is msg, known in chinese food to cause allergic reactions, and has been banned in certain cities in the world from being used, it gets better and better.

Reading randys statement one thing sticks out like a sore thumb the fact that Dr Tony is relying on the stadium to creat funds to potentially develope the squad. To me that sounds pretty much like renaming the stands for sponsor money and relying on that and creating a huge fan Base in the gar East with merchandise sales. The fact we can't find this guys wealth and those comments make me think we will not have the buckets loads of cash that we all hoped for but I hope I'm wrong utv.

Just been reading about Dr Tony, if only half of it is true it's quite exciting. Loves football, played as a striker at Oxford . Found the Villa and became a fan . He is determined to make Villa a top club again, also best supported club in China . i'm guilty, the same as us all of clutching at any straw passing by . Good profile on the Villa website. Well respected and successful in Hong Kong and China. Shrewd investor with plenty of cash and, best of all, he's not Lerner. Time will tell but I'm optimistic. China is an absolutely massive untapped market for fans and their (investment) money so, hopefully he can convene a (literally) huge claret and blue army.

As ecstatic as I am am at the prospect of new owners, the thought of Roberto Di Matteo being appointed the new manager does not exactly fill me with optimism. Then again Pearson wouldn't have been my first choice 3 months ago. Obviously the remit for any manager is to get us back to the Prem as soon as possible, and I won't care a monkeys who's at the helm if we achieve that!

Right, in my humbling, bumbling opinion this is a bad deal, i'm not going to bang on about trust issues (done that in previous posts), but i'm nailing my colours to the mast and saying it'll be another repeat of a few years of investment and then, same old, same old, if you think you didn't see old randy enough you might as well call the new owner casper, because you'll see him less times than haileys'comet, we're just a trinket now, a play thing, the villa i know, is changing, and not for the better;i'm not going to post any more disbaraging things about loosing our identity, i'm just gutted, but for everyone who sees bright skies ahead, i hope your bang on the money.

Until I see evidence of the money available to re establish our AVFC I will not get excited.
There are foreign owners of many clubs not in the prem and not much money seems to go towards improving the team.
We had promises when Scrooge bought AVFC but his interest soon dried up and I can't see him being bothered about what a new owner will put on the table as long as he gets his money.
Chinese or American, makes no difference, unless they take our AVFC seriously we will not back where we should be for several seasons.
We could end up as a plaything for a playboy and that would be devastating.

Sorry to sound like a know it all but suggestions that Hollis is sealing any deal in China are off the mark and just paper talk. From now on "given that things are at an advanced stage" Lerners Lawyers will be dealing with things and most definately in this country, afterall Aston Villa is in this country! If i were buying a club in América i wouldn't tie the deal up in Birmingham for example - just Basic understanding is required here!
