That is incorrect, Bent and Makoun were signed by Houllier which was the year before
I think we all need to accept that villa won't be signing anyone, you can read between the lines what lambert has said lerner won't give him any money. so we must wave goodbuy to the top flight after all these years.
I know it sounds defeatist. But I almost want to get the season over with, accept the inevitable relegation and prepare for a hard but successful campaign in the Championship next season. Being bought by someone in the summer who has a real interest in the club would be a huge bonus.
The one thing that gives me any hope is the news of what Southampton have done today.We might survive due to the greatest own goal in footballing history.

I really hope Southampton go down, to sack the man that got them where they are today is shocking.
I hope they spend loads, get relegated, go into administration and end up back in League 1....then they may remember what Adkins rescued them from.....NCFC Fan
