so many people today banging on about how great grealish is and that he silenced all the critics with his goal

but can some one please correct me if i'm wrong but he's been out injured or dropped the whole time we was on that great run he's been back 2 game (burton/ fulham) that can't be a coincidence surely?

he has got to be one of the laziest gits off the ball and once he's got the ball don't do much else with it, now i said half way through last season i don't see what all the hype is about with him and gardener and i'm still struggling to see it,

what have i missed with them two?

17 Apr 2017 21:58:48
Been saying for a long time that grealish is so overhyped it's unreal. Scored a great goal but once again done nothing else, not good enough. Should go all out and sign cairney from Fulham and play him in the number 10 role.

17 Apr 2017 22:07:29
wanted cairney over lansbury in jan but we got what we did.

17 Apr 2017 22:18:11
You put Cairney in our team today and with 10 men he performs the same as Grealish, nothing you can do but sit behind the ball. We always look for a scapegoat and at the end of the day the player with the most negative influence on the game was Kodjia, 19 goals or not, today the buck stops with him. The whole team worked their backside off and did best they could once they was down to 10 men.

If from watching today's game you pick out Grealish as the worst performer then I'm guessing you just watched him and non of the others. And I don't rate the kid at all, but I'm realistic.

As for Gardner what more could he have done today? Got pick pocketed once but nothing come of it and there was no man on shout so could blame the team around him for that, played a good few balls to hogan in behind (one of the only players who did) did his defensive duties, you can't expect the world of him and if Lansbury put the same shift in then no one would bat an eye lid.

18 Apr 2017 09:28:43
I agree with Chris, Yes jacks over hyped but i must say the boys got ability you don't see it because managers don't play him as a number 10 they play him out of position on the wing. So many players get slaughtered because of stupid managers playing them out position. eg bacuna right bk he made his name centre mid kodjia on the wing at times this season grealish on the wing jedinack cbk need i go on.

It wasn't about the manager though it was about the ref having a bad day. All i am saying is stop slating our own players encourage them give them confidence yes players have bad games sometimes don't mean they're rubbish and just play players in there proper place. If you put fulham's number 10 on the wing would he be as good no so get behind the boys!

18 Apr 2017 10:10:00
Exactly walk the walk, you buy tom cairney in the summer, Bruce still doesn't want to play a number 10 role so he then gets played out of position and but because he's a lad that we've brought an not come through our youth system, 20 games of him playing left mid an doing nothing an no one will bat an eyelid.

Gardner and Grealish play first game in months, with 10 men, put a shift in, one bangs a screamer out of no where and their over hyped and waste of space?! Also no one even mentioned Grealish being this or that strikes just assumed they would an made a post of that assumption.

17 Apr 2017 19:51:35
Only saw the Koja incident on TV? Really seemed minimal contact? He more squared up to the Fulham player, couldn't see him stamp or kick? Real shame will miss the party on Sunday!

17 Apr 2017 21:14:20
can't see us getting any luck with an appeal as the intent was still there and clearly visible. Cost us the game today, similar way grealish did against Fores, grealish got pelters at the time.

17 Apr 2017 18:44:17
Can't defend Kodjia but if one goes they both go, second time in 48 hours we've had an appalling referee. Second goal comes from a free kick that to anyone on this planet is a brilliant tackle. Was always going to be near impossible with 10 men but for a long period they did what you should, sit back, wait and when we got further up on the break Grealish scored a brilliant goal.

Bruce rolled the dice to try an salvage something but it left us open at the back, I know I'd rather give it a go rather than sit back an accept the defeat, losing 2-1 or 3-1, still drop the same amount of points.

Looks like Zola has gone and resigned ahead of the derby on Sunday
How damned selfish of him!

17 Apr 2017 18:45:53
I'm more gutted about that than us losing.

17 Apr 2017 19:49:01
Definitely my vote for Championship Manager of the season! To think he had no preseason to work with his squad yet has done a Stirling job! Such a shame he can't see it through! Thank you all the same Mr Zola!

17 Apr 2017 17:18:40
You know what really does pisk me off is people who come on here and moan because we have lost where are you when we win? No wonder Flackie and Co don't come on here anymore people like you don't deserve to be Villa fans! Feel free to reply you moaners.

17 Apr 2017 17:28:53
Well said Villadaz. With any football team you are going to get highs and lows.

17 Apr 2017 17:31:48
When was the last time you saw Villa play well and win? When I say "play well" I mean like Fulham played today. Passed us to death, quick incisive with an end result. We have scraped results over the past 6 - 7 weeks and those performances were no better than today. Winning should give you confidence. There is none because we are playing poorly and have done nearly all season.

17 Apr 2017 17:48:03
Does it matter if we played bad and won? Would you have took playing badly and winning and stopping in the premier league I would have and I guess 98% of Villa fans would too!

17 Apr 2017 18:28:26
Yes it does matter Villadaz. It matters because the 2 things are inextricably linked.
Believe me, you are not going to go through a season playing poorly and winning enough games to get promotion. Not going to happen
That said, I think with a pre-season behind him and a few new editions we will improve enough to make a decent fist of it.

17 Apr 2017 18:41:53
Villadaz your 100% right, it's just full of false rumours pulled from thin air and fickle fake fans who moan for the sake of moaning.

17 Apr 2017 18:42:38
Villadaz it's because you accept mediocrity nothing will change. We want better for our money, go to small heath if you want to accept rubbish, we expect more!

17 Apr 2017 18:46:15
Blues have been playing a beautiful passing game with some brilliant passages of play, wonder how they've got on the last 20 games, anyone know?

17 Apr 2017 19:41:35
I work with Blues fans Chris. None of them have ever described any passages of their play under Zola as brilliant.

17 Apr 2017 20:07:00
I understand your sentiments Mendex but to get out of this League we have to battle and play hard playing good football is what we all want but if we play bad and ugly and still win 40 odd games then so be it, That's just my opinion. As for you Hopeful buddy I will be going to Small Heath Tomorrow for work and I will take the Pee out of our Neighbours and then come Sunday I will be in the Windsor at 9 for my pre match pint heading to B6 too watch us win ugly.

17 Apr 2017 21:17:36
so do i mendax, half of them talked for a good 80% of his games about how well they were playing and how good the expansive passive game they was playing looked brilliant, the other half slagged that half for caring too more about the football than the results. Stoke used to play the ugliest form of football and be consistently mid table, Hull played horrible football under bruce and got promoted twice, burnley aren't the prettiest of side by any stretch of the imagination and they won this league last year.

18 Apr 2017 20:15:25
Blimey mate, I don't know any Blues fans saying that they've been playing brilliant football. Have your pet Bluenoses been on the crack pipe?

18 Apr 2017 23:18:42
Aren't they all on crack, these same lads claimed Keita (their new leftback) will be sold in the summer to a champions league club for 15mil plus. mental. Honestly tho a lot of them were talking about how they was playing much better than under Rowett an the results were round the corner, this was just before the Rotherham game.

17 Apr 2017 16:45:36
Disappointed with the impact all of Bruces signings have made this season.
I know making 7 signings in January it takes time for players to settle in but none of them have shown anything like what we would have hoped. I fear another tough year next season too.
Can't see anything to be excited about for the near future.

17 Apr 2017 17:21:09
See who we buy in the transfer window. Also who will be staying with us and who will be leaving.

17 Apr 2017 16:28:42
It's just like watching last year, this team is not good enough for the championship, without major additions we are going nowhere. Poor football all round.

17 Apr 2017 16:48:06
Could not agree more. Even games we've won have been scrappy to say the least. You'd have thought winning 6 games in 7 would give the team confidence but we look like we've lost 6 on the bounce!

17 Apr 2017 15:48:19
This performance today and the one on Saturday is no worse than any in games we've scraped a win in. We're not playing well and haven't for 90% of the season.
Don't want wholesale changes again in summer but I can't see adding 2 or 3 players really making that much difference to us.
Really disappointing again.

17 Apr 2017 18:43:20
Hate to be blunt but you obviously don't watch villa a lot then, and you watched the reading game with your eyes closed.
