Use our rumours form to send us aston villa transfer rumours.

Does anybody else know if Aston Villa are open? we are going on a bad run again and nobody seems to be coming in; only rumours and talk, mean while gabby agbonlahor picks up a wage.

Steve Bruce said we lack quality - don't say that if you aren't buying players because the players he's saying are crap have got to go out there saturday and they simply won't run for him if he keeps slating them!

We all know they aren't great but you have to back them publicly till you can improve it. In the Summer you couldn't shut dr. tony where is he now? end of the day its his fault he picked RDM.

16 Jan 2017 19:16:31
We're all frustrated but I really don't believe for one minute that it's for want of trying that we have not seen more new faces
January is notoriously difficult to get players in as clubs are less likely to release good players, even if you throw money at them, when they have limited time to get replacements
We can all come on here and air our frustrations, that might serve some cathartic purpose but little else

16 Jan 2017 20:13:48
Your exactly right iam just frustrated

16 Jan 2017 22:30:19
I'm with you there brother. Imagine how Bruce feels

Just a simple thought from a simple fella, we have a good enough squad (on paper) to be in the top six easily, we have a mixture of youth and experience, we have a manager with a proven track record of taking teams up, and we have a healthy war chest, so why are we stuttering along, well, for me its simple, we haven't got an enforcer, a leader on the pitch the players fear and respect, and who the manager can trust to implement his ideas.

we can't win 'ugly', we have a sense of entitlement that we'll get promoted on the back of attractive football, when was the last time we had a leader on the pitch? that should tell you a story, say what you want about neil warnock, but he proves a point here, cardiff, bugger all money, players bumbling along, he steps in, signs a few players who can play and go to war (samba), and hey presto, things are turning around with no money spent and a bunch of free agents helping to get them on their way.

every team who are a success have a nasty side, look at liverpool, great going forward but the defence is soft; hey presto they want fonte from southampton, not because he can dribble like messi or sprint like ronaldo; its because he's an enforcer, and gets the job done.

so whether we sign 1 player or 10 players, it won't mean jack siht if their not a leader/ enforcer, for me ;only then do we go forward, not sideways. i'm sure many will disagree with this, but unless the board back bruce, even if we have to spend crazy money on that 'leader', maybe paying well over the odds, there'll be no-one to take charge once they step over the line, brucey can give then the greatest game plan in the world, but there on the pitch, with no conductor orchestrating, then a great plan becomes obselete, tin hat on fellas, i await the pelters!

16 Jan 2017 13:29:28
Recent posts all saying the same.
Pitch manager, leader, enforcer Charlie Adam.
Fills all the job description.
Perhaps Lansbury has the credentials.
A player that demands respect and effort.
My old mom could get in the present team.

16 Jan 2017 15:59:46
was many fans not crying out for jedinak in the summer has he was this leader and enforcer you are talking about. what the team lacks is balance and creative spark. everyone is saying mccormack has lost his touch but look at the wolves game for an example he had the one good chance that he should of took but what else did we create. if we rely on a player taking one chance a game that we make then keep teams out the only way we are going is down.

16 Jan 2017 17:21:05
I think I was the 1st to suggest Jedinak on here, he should be that 'leader' but look at who his fellow midfielders are? and a lot of the time we set up as a 424 to accommodate all the forwards we have, it's a big ask for him to cover that imbalance.

1 thing I'll say about him, he always seems to be in front of the defence heading the ball when the opposition launch it, is he supposed to trap it with his head then go on a Kinkladze run to the other end of the pitch and set up unmissable assists? The problem is he's got nothing at his side to give the ball to, we need a minimum of 2 savvy midfielders that'll walk straight into the team, then you'd see the benefit of Jedinak.

We don't go up and Bruce will be toast!
The Dr wants us up this season but it's all gone pear-shaped,
The football on offer is terrible to watch and the 5 games we have won have been lucky to say the least,
Our best performance by far was at Brighton yet never come close to that performance since,
That's why in my opinion Bruce has lost the dressing room,
Any manager who thinks gabby is our man up front is totally deluded,
Why is kozak not involved?
Can any fan tell me he is not a bigger threat to get a goal than gabby?
Plus he can hold up the ball,
Gabby has no ball control to speak of and is clearly taking the piss out of our fans,
I am lost for words on how and where we are going,

16 Jan 2017 16:58:07
After watching wolves I've come to the conclusion certain players, Gabby as an example think they are Villa, in terms they think their irreplaceable and purely from the outside looking in it seems like other players who are there aren't us there guests, it's not their team, it's gabbys, Huttons, Bunns.

I really am starting to think we need 4 or 5 players in before the end of the window and for the followings 5 game starts play a starting 11 that had nothing to do with last season bar Amavi and Baker, let them know their Aston Villa, we as fans have got their backs and their the lads to take us forward, whilst letting Gabby&co know they have no overruling power in the team!

16 Jan 2017 17:54:30
Lost the dressing room? Why isn't Kozak involved?

Jesus, What a clown!

16 Jan 2017 19:18:14
Ha ha ha
I'm saying nothing Flackie

16 Jan 2017 19:21:06
My thoughts exactly flackie, I've not seen many posts by him but what I have seen are ridiculous!

16 Jan 2017 20:40:28
😂😂😂😂😂 main bob what a fabulous post and certainly very entertaining! But ultimately absolutely bulderdash

16 Jan 2017 19:33:57
Bruce will be toast if we don't go up? What because he couldn't sort the mess in 6months that Di matteo made. Bruce will be just fine mate no matter what the Internet fans want

16 Jan 2017 20:30:44
Mate search for some!
Quality, just like an old edition of viz!

16 Jan 2017 22:34:28
A good bet at the bookies is Bruce won't be there at the beginning of next season and my money would be safer on this bet than we make the play offs, just let's see who is nearer the mark

16 Jan 2017 23:06:23
Mainbob's opinions are honest observations. He is nearer the truth than the majority of other views. Look at the results and the quality of the performances, give the guy some credibility or is the truth hard to accept for most of you.

17 Jan 2017 08:32:42
When Bruce came in he said kozak can go, why has he not give him a chance?
This fascination with playing gabby is really stupid in my book, he should not be anywhere near the 16 man squad.

Give green, Cauder, Davis a proper run in team not 3-4 minutes!
Also the Dr will not be happy seeing Bruce playing gabby after he turned down a loan move to reading in the summer.

This is the main reason why I think Bruce will be gone in the summer. These Chinese owners don't mess about with failure.

17 Jan 2017 09:32:52
I totally disagree, however, at least now you have put forward an argument, and actually one on paper that has merit.

So all I'm asking you to do is ask your self why!

Why would he keep playing gabby?
Why won't he play the younger players? Kozak?

All comes down to one thing, and I'll say it again.
He sees them all, day in day out, and yet he still picks gabby above them. Why? As in his opinion, our managers, our head coaches, the guy actually paid to make the decision, thinks he is the best option!

He is crap, and I wish he never had the chance to wear a villa shirt again. But how bad, unready and/ or worse must the rest be, that he is?

This is Bruce's job, career and reputation, one of, if not the biggest club in the division, he is not only expected but demanded to get us promoted, and he plays in his opinion the best team at his disposal.
We need better players, no question.
The ones that are here, are not his players.
He deserves the chance, and time to make his squad, team.
You know, deep down, when a new striker comes, the for mentioned won't even warm the bench.

17 Jan 2017 11:15:48
Flackie, have you noticed how quiet the good Dr is on twitter?
He is sharp as a button most of the time, but since the wolves game, nothing!
Nigel spinks thinks there is something rotten going on behind the scenes, I agree with him.

17 Jan 2017 17:06:35
Because he hasn't posted for three days on line?
That's how you have come to a conclusion?
Ok!

Maybe he is quiet under advice as he doesn't want to speak about potential signings

Maybe he is busy in one of his other businesses

Maybe he is letting the person he employs to run his club, to run it.

16 Jan 2017 11:35:52
simple question would any other club play a striker who has not created / assisted or scored in more than 12 months, if not why are we? Grabby does not look like scoring so why not play one of the youngsters - what do we have to lose?

16 Jan 2017 15:41:08
Good post, i do agree play the youngsters.

16 Jan 2017 16:55:25
I agree in principle. but think of this, Bruce knows this, sees the same as us, and still plays him.

What does that say about his confidence in any of the younger strikers stepping up?

We all think they must be great, because our claret and blue glasses say so, and the world can see how crap gabby is, but the only person who sees it all, both sides is Bruce, and he picks gabby over them.

16 Jan 2017 17:33:26
our youth system has been crap last 5 to 10 years. xia has said they are doing a total overall of the whole system to help us in this area. gabby came through never been brilliant if we are honest, then we all talked up the Moore brothers both crap then we have had the Gardner brothers. craig was a average player and Gary is yet to really show anything. now green Hepburn-murphy Davis and a few others are coming through. but let's face it 1 if any will turn out to be good enough. I in part feel us fans don't help villa with youth though as we all have our opinion and we would do this and blood him or throw the youth in but if a manager was to do that and we lost 3 on the bounce we would all be calling for the managers head. a lot of managers have come and gone at villa that have blooded youth at other clubs but have not done so with us. this is down to 2 things. they are of a low standard and not good enough and us fans and the way we are. patient approach is the only way forward guys.

16 Jan 2017 17:46:22
The best kid we had was Crowley and Arsenal stole him off us, I'm hoping Oscar Borg can redress that out of the kids I've seen, the kids never really got a chance in the Prem unless we were desperate, surely they should get more of a look in with where we are now?

UTV

16 Jan 2017 20:17:40
Still on the kids thing, if we do throw them in and we lose a few games and their confidence is shot, doesn't that show that they're not up to it? Somebody mentioned the 2 Everton lads that played yesterday, they were brave enough to throw them in, and against Citeh too, not in a 3rd round EFL Cup joke match and they did just fine

We need to be getting bodies in this week our whole midfield needs replacing.
Grealish seems to have lost interest again just throwing his hands up in air when he loses the ball instead of tracking back.

Jedinak is in the team for one reason and that's to break up play and pass forward but he can't make a 5 yrd pass.

Tishbola is in there to try get forward but is still a bit raw and makeing all the wrong runs because of the likes of grealish ayew holding on to the ball for to long
Adomha is probably to the only one that gives everything but seems to bottle it on front of goal.

I was reading that we have put a bid on guadeolia from Watford and I think he is better than what we have mobile shoots on sight and not afraid to get stuck in
Charlie adam the same, Lansbury the same these are the type we need and with this type of player other teams would be more fearfully of us and then we wouldn't have to be playing the Jedinak holding midfield.

I'm going to get hammered for this but I would try and get Walters from Stoke as well gets the odd goal can play out wide and gives 110% every game.

Personally I don't think we will make play offs now but I know under Bruce next season as squad as club we will be in a much better place we will have some sort of playing style Bruce was never going to come in and just click his fingers and get this shame that Lerner and Co left behind right in a couple of weeks have faith we will sit at the big table again and we will be prepared.

16 Jan 2017 10:23:25
You are posting what 80% of us are posting.
Reality is now on board and we must look forward.
Not all over for this year, yet, but getting close.
Should SB get enough money he will lay the foundations for a total rebuild following the wreck that the cowboys left behind.

16 Jan 2017 11:37:08
it is all over

16 Jan 2017 11:25:15
Not from me mate, I agree with every word, and with Walters. But no chance as playing regularly in prem!
But just what we need, work ethic, grit, balls, fight and goals.

17 Jan 2017 16:32:10
Mort 13 are we all doomed?
Do you write Dad's Army. It is difficult at present but there is still time to get to play offs.

16 jan 2017 02:16:13
my second post.
people leave bruce alone and let him get on with it. this is is not his team and is just making do with what we have. he is looking to strengthen in all the right places and we can all see that. he's after a rightback. midfield, left wing and is also looking at upfront now as well.

he was hoping like me that our strikers would take their opp and repay the faith we have or had in them. but he knows it all can't be put on kodjias back so he will look for better. he's just got to find the right ones.

give him a chance. we are only 4-5 players off a squad that can play in multiple formations depending on the opposition. a team that could really turn on the style and destroy all oppositon. at the moment all we can do is try and grind out results and with a bit of luck get in top 6.

if we get the players we need in this window we stand a good chance. if not i think he will get everyone we need for next season and that will be our season where we rip the championship apart and are crowned champions.

the way i see it is the only way is up for us the sleeping giant that is aston villa!

16 Jan 2017 16:14:42
I agree. let's be honest, this season to get to the play offs would be a bonus now. Let brucey start to build now for next season in the championship. The one thing i'm not sure about which keeps getting mentioned is the right back position.

If we stay in this division we'll have de'laet back next season who's fine should we reach the prem. Hutton may not be everyones favourite but he's good enough for this season. Why waste that money on a position we will have covered next season.

16 Jan 2017 17:16:43
I personally think Hutton gets a rough deal. Most committed player we have. 8/10 on defending week after week. Always an out for the ball, and never hides.

So he's not great going forward. his first job is to defend. That's why we play with wide men.

de-leat and Hutton for rb, and a Amarvi and Brady left back.
