Decent result today considering where Leicester are in the table and that we managed to come back from behind. I was impressed with Bunn so I hope he gets to continue in goal and Okore was class too. Kozak and Gestede looked an effective partnership up front if not pretty. Its a shame Adama is injured as he would provide that direct attacking threat we were missing today and he would have plenty to cross to. Maybe there's still hope .

Great shame NUFC got a win today but agree all said we battled second half and held the leaders to a draw! Negatives we're didn't think Ayew was at the races and Veratout was very lacking in quality crosses and distribution. Positives with Bunn and the two tall centre forward partnership! If only we had battled this much from October I reckon we could be in a better position VTID.

I honestly thought we were no were near good enough today against a Leicester team that were also pretty poor. I can not see a way out of this. We need 9 wins its took us the last 57 games to record 9 wins so how now can we do it with 16 games left. We are nowhere near good enough for the prem with this squad an management and above. We don't deserve to be in the prem I hate to say it but we are a complete mess. I jus hope we can soon have a massive overhaul an be back in the prem an competing where this great club deserves to be in the next few years as this is breaking my heart. Sorry if I upset anyone with this but I'm a realist.
Villa till I die!

No your a pessimist.

Today, although not perfect, was loads better, positive and had fight.
We played the league leaders, top v bottom.
And we at least matched them.

The only consistent thing here is your positive outlook dan.

I wouldn't say it was Villas greatest performance, no but certainly better than some of the earlier ones this season.
Dont want to make excuses for Villa either but, the Cissokho handball was very harsh, and Huth blatantly elbowed Kozak twice should have had at least one pen and he should have been sent off.

The confidence around the dressing room now must be considerably better than it was after the Sunderland game.

I'm certainly not going to get carried away, it's very much against us, but it's still not impossible. And the performances and effort levels have definitely improved.

I do agree Leicester were certainly not at their best yesterday, but I also think Villa need some credit for making things hard for them. I'd personally like to see us really start going for games the last 20 minutes or so, even if it takes all 3 subs and we just go all out.

I certainly think even if it was for the last 10 mins against teams. I'd love to see Micah Richards come on as a CF for a bit, Rudy, Kozak and Richards would give defenders no rest.

Ok here's my predictions based upon the last two matches improvements compared to what I thought after Sunderland Away! Bear in mind this is being the most optimistic now!

WBA away before SAFC lose now win based too on their injuries 3 points
WHU away before lose now draw 1 point
Norwich Home before win now win 3 points
LFC home before lose now draw based on their inconsistency 1 point
Stoke away before lose now lose 0 points
Everton home before lose now draw based on can't kill many sides off 1 point
Man C away before lose and now lose despite the snake getting a red card 0
Tottenham home lose and now lose based upon last few years and current 0
Swans Away before draw now must must must win 3 points
Chelski home before lose now draw based on our past hoodoo overl them 1 point
AFC Bournemouth home before win now win 3 points
Man U away before lose and now as always lose 0 points
Saints home before lose now draw 1 point
Watford away before lose now win as will be fighting for lives them safe 3 points
NUFC home before win and now prem survival win 3 points
Arsenal away before lose now lose o points

So pre rececnt form I was thinking 8 points plus 10 points=20 and definate relegation now with complete delusional belief 23 points plus 12 is 35 so still good chance of down but not the impossible dream to stay up!

17 Jan 2016 11:52:12
No flackie I'm a realist. You my friend are a deluded optimist if you think we are going to stay up. However I do hope you make me look stupid👍🏻.

17 Jan 2016 12:03:05
Those maths people 8 plus 10 is 18 as saw no points against CP or Foxes!

17 Jan 2016 12:42:23
Nah mate, I've not said we WILL stay up, but what I have said is we are NOT down until there is an 'r' after our name.
I also disagree with you saying we looked crap yesterday.
I don't think we looked like we are world beaters, but playing like that, we would win more than not.
Ever thought Leicester had a bad game as we got in their faces, out fought them, and didn't allow them to play?
If, and it's a big if, they play that way, with that intensity for rest of season we will stay up.
Or, we could just throw the towel in right now?

But don't stress mate, your looking that all by your self.

17 Jan 2016 12:53:14
If we do turn this around, I pledge here that I will give £25 to acorns, and £10 for every point we are above the relegation line!!

17 Jan 2016 14:58:13
Great gesture re Acorns reckon won't be too much out of pocket budget for about 35 quid! But fancy £25 and goal difference!

17 Jan 2016 15:01:17
That's a good shout!!

16 Jan 2016 12:30:46
Austin to Southampton

Gutted!!

16 Jan 2016 13:03:21
So am I absolute bargain. For 7m we should have had Austin Byrom an caulker on loan. Then sell lescott for 3m so only be 4m out of pocket.

{Ed002's Note - It doesn't work like that at all.}

16 Jan 2016 13:58:52
By all accounts Austin didn't think we were a decent proposition in the summer; what chance then that he would have come now? Absolutely none, no matter what he was offered
Lescott for £3 million? Come on.

16 Jan 2016 14:28:47
I agree mate, and starting to think our silence in this window is deafening.

White towel anyone??

16 Jan 2016 16:32:45
I think we have to face the fact that this owner is not in any way interested and that in all likelihood things are going to get worse before they get better
Desperate times.

16 Jan 2016 17:30:26
My shout would be try and get Shane Long off The Saints, I'd think he's behind Pelle, Austin and Mane and with the Euros coming up would need games and maybe to prove a point, I've always seen him as a potential £20M+ player myself

UTV.

16 Jan 2016 21:40:17
As previously said over the weeks who will want to come to the villa in our current position? We will be last in the pecking order and iver here in the uk will be lucky to pick up any scraps? Some player overseas may wish to come till the end of the season to get themselves on the Premier League shop window? Even then will they get to strut their stuff in our side. All said and done this window is all too little too late and blame lies on the policy of the board to appoint cheap managers/ yes men who are given no funds and meagre players pay structure post MO'N. At least we now are showing some fight today with supporters and players reunited, shame the quality is still lacking and little chance of that greatly changing this window. Shane Long isn't a bad shout though?

16 Jan 2016 12:29:51
Austin to Southampton then!
Another player we missed!!

16 Jan 2016 12:42:41
Would have been good for us but I'm sure we have more targets! Ha.
