I'm just interested to see what some of you think of the Scottish league compared to the championship eg are Wolves and Villa as good as eg Celtic and Aberdeen both are first and second in their leagues. And would you like to see Scottish football join the English league eg like Swansea and Cardiff have. The away trips we would have would be a great laugh so let's have it all your views.

Why? ?

{Ed007's Note - Celtic in the English Pub League 2nd division! Spot on Flackie, why?}

Haha. that reply from flackie šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚.

You would never know where they would fit unless they actually merged but Iā€™d guess Celtic would be around the top half of the prem, where the likes of Everton normally are. After that most Scottish teams would be mid table championship moving towards league 1. I donā€™t think itā€™s a good idea to merge, the only thing that would benefit them would be the increased tv money, outside of that would they be able to get into the champions league anymore? Would they be able to win a trophy nearly every year? What I do think would be a good idea is either in the FA or League cup, include all UK teams, that would be interesting.

Simply because while watching Celtic in the Champions League I thought Scotish Football is a poor level but are Wolves and Villa better than the Scotish top 2 who play in Europe? And the 2nd thing is if they was in the championship would they win it.

I honestly do not think benteke is the answer another great player ruined by an agent in his ear only after money. Think if we get promoted which i think we will, will have a few quid to spend on a new striker . i'd prefer ashley young back at villa park before benteke . I reckon 2-0 against fulham the weekend . Up the villa .

Can you expand on ā€œonly after moneyā€, he kept us up for 3 years, didnā€™t lie and say he was staying or anything, said he wanted to go compete in Europe something that we couldnā€™t offer him and he left to do so in what was a good deal for the club. Failed to perform since leaving but I donā€™t know how you can say heā€™s only after money, not like heā€™s gone to China or somewhere like that, he left for champions league football with Liverpool and now heā€™s at Crystal Palace where heā€™ll be paid less than what he was at Liverpool but he wanted to leave because he wasnā€™t getting games. Iā€™d take him back in a heart beat, confidence player and with us he knew we loved him so he was always confident and could perform. Young was an exceptional player but heā€™s more than getting on a bit now, when weā€™ve got more than enough players who can play out wide especially, unless their going to add 12+ goals a season I donā€™t see why we would prioritise a wide man.

I think when (šŸ˜‰) we go up, Dr Tony would want us to buy that 1 big statement player, if he reads various Villa sites, to please the faithful, that player would be Benteke, a good fit all round, there'd be goals with him and Hogan up front, if we went 2 up top.

UTV.

Hi Guys,

Had my first Villa Park experience at the weekend and what an experience it was. Been a Villa fan since I was a kid, fell in love with them during the era of McGrath and the other Irish contingent, but I have to say the derby was an eye opening experience and I'm already planning my next visit - Amazing atmosphere.

So, we are in 2nd place and automatic promotion is in our own hands - If (Sorry, When) we go up automatically, what do you think we need next season to cement a place in the Premier League?

I've been having a think and assuming we sign Sam Johnstone and Robert Snodgrass on permanent deals I feel we still need another 6 Players to go into the first team - I think we need a LB, RB, CB, MF, ST. I would love Terry to stay for a further year but we may need a younger model at CB?

Johnstone,

New RB, Chester, New CB, New LB

Hourihane, New MF

Snodgrass, Grealish, Adomah

Kodjia

What players would you like us to sign?

15 Feb 2018 12:35:43
Agree with most of it, but remember we still need to go and sign Johnstone and Snodgrass permanently. Given a run in the side I think Taylor will regain his confidence and form so could probably get away with him at left back for a season, but if we could go an get someone like Joe Bryan from Bristol that would be brilliant. Ideally I think we need a new striker, on top form and fitness Kodjia is good enough for the prem but itā€™s about getting him fit and firing and keeping him there. If it was an ideal world Iā€™d love to see us go and sign:
Johnstone
Trippier
Mawson/ Flint
Bryan
Wanyama/ Schneiderlin
Snodgrass
Benteke

If we donā€™t bring in a good few players especially at centre back and a goal scorer itā€™s going to be a hard season, and whoever we do get needs to be proven premier league quality who will hit the ground running.

It's great to think about who to sign next year when we are in premiership?
The trouble is we are not up yet,
Loads of fans now think it's a certainly we are up on here and on radio phone ins,
I really hope we go up but I'm keeping my powder dry for now,
We have had two many false dawns for my liking,
On paper we are going up in my eyes with the fixtures left but let's just take one game at a time,
Then it's party time hopefully,

15 Feb 2018 15:34:44
We have a massive game this weekend, if we beat Fulham we really have to start thinking about the Premiership

I'm not usually one to get carried away, and fully appreciate people keeping their powder dry, but we could be 3 points clear in 2nd come Sunday night as Cardiff play Boro, that has draw written all over it. If that happens, and taking the fixtures into account between now and the end of the season I think we will be up.

ChrisAVFC those are some ambitious signs but funny enough I was thinking about Schneiderlin and Benteke myself - The amount of times Grealish is fouled in forward areas, add to that the delivery of Snodgrass, Benteke could thrive!

I really hope you are correct with your score prediction over w/ end,
On paper this is our hardest game away from home,
Nothing would please me more if we catch wolves,
Wolves supporters already celebrating the champions title,
15 games and anything can happen for the better or worse,
Cross your fingers mate.
