I have a theory, for me it has taken a bit of the sting out of what has just happened.
If we take the two scores from our last two games and reverse them, had we lost 3-1 to wolves on Saturday and then beaten QPR 4-1 last night, maybe we would not be so upset about all this.
Although losing 3-1 to wolves would not have been ideal, a 4-1 win against QPR would surely have made up for it.
My point being we would still be in the same situation as we are now.
I think the annoying aspect of all this, is the fact that Cardiff and Fulham are not slipping up at all, so I am resigned to the fact that if we do make the Premiership this season, it will be via the play offs.
Either way, we would have to overcome Cardiff or Fulham.
Come on Villa don`t blow it all now, yes it`s going to be tough, let`s have 9 from 9.

I think that’s quite right Dave, we wouldn’t be half as bothered if the results were swapped! I don’t think automatics is gone just yet, but it’s last chance saloon and will probably be decided the weekend, if Derby beat Cardiff and we win I think we’ve still got a punchers chance! We never do things the easy way but 27 points to play for, we’ll need close to all of them to get automatics.

I hope you a right about the automatics chris, and I agree this weekend will be paramount for us.
A big problem now has to be Fulham, looking at their fixtures I can`t see them losing a game, they might draw a couple but that’s about it, I hope I am wrong.
As you say though, if we get favourable results come the weekend, we will still have a slim chance.

Villadave very good point, funny enough my son said the same on the way home Tuesday . Nice to see Bruce, agrees he should have freshened it up and not gone with same players . Obviosly he doesn’t read this page HaHa, enough posters made the comment . All we can do is keep winning and we can play our part in turning up the volume at the park . Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

I really believe that derby beating Cardiff and villa beating Bolton is the only results we need this weekend,
But I see derby are on the slide and have injurys to key players plus suspensions,
So I can't see Cardiff losing to be honest,
But I'm not giving up in my belief we will get that 2nd spot but it will weaken massively if the results go against us weekend,
Come on you lions!

Don’t think anyone on here said to freshen things up before the game, hindsight is a wonderful thing, but if he had made changes and we went out and lost he’d be getting pelters with “you don’t change a winning team”. It was a proper banana skin but it’s done now, let’s get back on track Saturday.

I agree Davedean, I think the Jeddi should have been rested for Bjarnason, and Lansbury could have done with a run out in place of Hourihane who has been bit off colour the last couple of games.
Still it was not too be, Shame.

Jedinak should never be playing 3 games a week, he looked absolutely knackered. I’d start with Bjarnson and Hourihane Saturday and then bring in Lansbury at half time, just for the fact swapping the whole midfield from the start might effect the team. I’d probably go 4-4-2 with hogan back in and either Grabban or Davis with him, give Jack a rest and bring him in last 30 or at half time. We’ve got a big squad, injuries have killed us this season but at this moment we’ve got several options, it’s time we used them. We win on Saturday and the pressures on Cardiff Sunday, with Derby and Wolves their next 2 games the game could be down to 1 point come 1st of april, in a perfect world!
