Nah - Cash only. We aren't a bank, and if they want to trigger his release clause they should have to stump up every penny of it upfront or else we consider it not met.

Why? Because we don't the highest quality of players!!!
I'm a realist. Without a swap deal we would struggle to attract players of this caliber. I would even say throw walker in and call it square. You make out we are better than these players when intact they are far better than the options we have available and we would struggle to get two three players like this in.

Ruffall86. Are you saying we couldn't attract the players you mention because they wouldn't come here if we offered cash ? (take Benteke out of it)
If that is the case we have no chance of "attracting" them in a swap deal either
Players are not going to come to a club they don't fancy just because it suits the club who want to get rid of them.
Your point makes no sense mate

Mendax is spot on - The clubs agree a price for the players between themselves, the players have no involvement. If the players doesn't agree on personal terms with the recipient club then the deal won't happen. Like what happened with Ricky Lambert in January - the clubs had it all agreed (5 million) and he chose to stay at Liverpool. You still have to 'attract' the player regardless of the type of transfer deal the clubs agree on.

Yeah he's right, let's do a deal to lose a quality player, to bring players in who don't want to be here.
That's worked so well in the past, Ireland and Milner spring to mind.
And no, I don't think they are better than we have, or that Spurs is a better option.

If the rumours that spurs are close to signing Trippier are true then Kyle Walker is definitely a player we should look at. Play Richards at CB alongside Clark or Okore, add a half decent left back and Guzan between the sticks and that's a solid looking back line.
