Can someone please tell me what grealish actually brings to the team? So overhyped it's laughable. hutton and elphick useless again. Feel sorry for jedinak trying to cover so much ground because the other midfielders are so shit. As for gabby, don't get me started. Need midfield creativity asap and someone who knows where the bloody goal is.

14 Jan 2017 22:04:26
you a bit angry mate? I just got back from the wolves game wasnt the greatest game i don't think we will go up so let's just calm down and just accept we are not that good at football and have a beer.

14 Jan 2017 22:03:41
Explain why grealish doesn't add anything to the team? And when your done then explain how Jedinak played better than Tshibola today, other than winning headers? I really do wonder what some people watch sometimes, grealish has turned games on their head and won us games this season and between Jedinak and Tshibola today, Tshibola had the better game.

14 Jan 2017 22:45:52
Well I remember him grabbing us an unlikely last minute winner a few weeks ago - so that's at least 2 points :)

15 Jan 2017 07:55:11
He slows the game down,? everytime he gets the ball he either turns into trouble or plays the ball back to his own goal, never try's to beat a player or quicken the tempo. Granted tschibola played ok but when your midfield gets overrun by an average at best wolves midfield then surely that's tell you how poor ours is.

15 Jan 2017 08:08:51
Andy villa. oh yeah agaisnt the might of Wigan ( I forgot about that, thanks our saviour ) if grealish was as good as you lot bang on about would we need a last minute winner from him? NO.

15 Jan 2017 08:49:30
Last 23 games that villa have played on live TV!
Lost 18
Drawn 3
Won 2?

That record is disgraceful by Any team.
Where are we going?
Only one way and it ain't upwards.

15 Jan 2017 10:49:08
Ahh I get it now it's the tellys fault we are where we are silly me for not guessing

15 Jan 2017 11:05:44
We don't bang on about him being the best in the world, you expect him to be the best in the world and when he isn't you start pulling your hair out, he's better than most the players we have got, fact.

15 Jan 2017 11:08:41
So take him out the team and we don't beat Wigan, would that make you happier? Probably, would the way your going on.

15 Jan 2017 11:38:54
"Against the might of Wigan" yea take him out and we draw to them, then again you'd probably preferred that, more to moan about, then you'd have been writing "where was grealish did nothing today! "

14 Jan 2017 21:30:36
Disappointing, what ever SB says we defiantly need a striker . Gabby proved once again with his lack of movement and totally no ball control, he is just not the answer . Unless Brucie thought Tish's legs had gone, I can't understand why he was subbed . He was all over the mid field, getting a foot in and used the ball well . Once again Hutton showed the rest the effort they should have been putting in, just a shame he hasent got the ability . Nic to see Green and Davis in the squad, just a shame R H Murphy hasent been included more, perhaps we wouldent be in this contract dispute . I can't understand all this with Landsbry and his agent, surely someone should of known better Brucie has a very big job on, just to improve us, never mind play offs . I certainly still think he is the man for the job, any other talk is just stupid . So Dr Tony get up the hole in the wall and get some more cash out . Onwards& Upwards Villaforever

14 Jan 2017 21:48:04
Bang on the money Dave, bang on!

14 Jan 2017 20:11:29
And the 'Bruce out' starts again!
Have some intelligent thinking, you really believe that another management change is for the best?

We don't need stability, we don't need security for the players. we need to be known as a club that acts before it thinks.

14 Jan 2017 20:57:00
Bruce is not the problem, the problem was there before Bruce arrived.
Yes we were poor again, Agbonlahor absolute rubbish, its like playing with 10 men when he is on the field.

Its all down to midfield, strikers never look like scoring without creativity and supply, and defence will eventually crack when under pressure.
We can't string more than a couple of passes together, and when we do its all rushed and to players already closed down.

14 Jan 2017 21:00:03
Follow Flackie and all will be well, he hasn't been right in the last 18 month's and he is not right now. McLeish, Lambert, Garde, RDM, Bruce RIP.

Our salary bill this week approx 3 million and we can't even get a shot on target disgraceful. Our crowds have been amazing considering what has been served up watch out these will now plummet now we have been found out.

14 Jan 2017 21:54:55
We needed Bruce in July! He can only work with what he has inherited! He is trying to sign players but January is only scraps usually. It will take a great run to get play offs and can't see this happening till get a couple in? Today wasn't a surprise and will keep the faith and Bruce is definitely the man to trust with Dr Tony's cash VTID

14 Jan 2017 22:06:58
Follow Flackie?
Did I want the ginger hobbit, garde or rdm? No!
But what I won't do is act like an impulsive child because we did get who I wanted!

Tell me, honestly how ANY of this, other than not agreeing with his selections, Bruce's fault?

Did he sign any of the players?
Did he sell the one striker we had who can't pass a ball, control a ball, head a ball, (I don't mean get his head on a ball in the air) run or actually play football?

If you are going to try and ride me, at least get facts correct. or am I being to 'hopeful'

14 Jan 2017 22:07:30
Hahaha good one hopeful, sack a manager with one of the best promotion records at multiple clubs, because he hasn't got a good squad to choose from - I like that hopeful, that's the way forward! Your funny you

14 Jan 2017 22:41:39
Just as I expected from all you in your responses. we are all claret and blue to the core, however at what point do we stop accepting the inept mediocrity?

15 Jan 2017 00:22:58
Hopeful we are where we are, we had a ten times worse season than Newcastle last season in the Prem and RDM is and was no Benitez. Many pundits were predicting a double drop and we are on our second manager this season. We can say it is not good enough for the mighty AVFC but we are where we are and it could be worse. 10 points is a hell of an ask with our current squad and I can see us as automatic promotion next season, Bruce will turn it around we are for now where we are due to the last 5 years of worse than mediocracy. UTV

15 Jan 2017 05:43:38
How do you suggest we stop accepting the mediocrity? Dr Xia has thrown 10's of millions at this side already and its still pretty damn mediocre. But mediocrity is a step up from last year when I'm pretty sure subjecting someone to 90 minutes of Villa attempting to play 'football' was in violation of the Geneva Convention. I'm sure none of us are thrilled by our current situation but that's no reason to just be obsessively pessimistic. Sometimes we have to take off the claret (and blue) tinted glasses and accept we don't have a divine right to be at the top and years of Lerner wearing the club down at the end of his tenure and constantly selling off all our good players without replacing them properly was never going to be an overnight fix.

15 Jan 2017 10:21:22
At the end of the day it was a terrible performance. You can't blame Bruce for the terrible squad we have. But u can blame him for his selection to an extent. I quite liked the fact he tried playing 2 upfront. I don't like the way he has ripped into mccormack for missing a header but said nothing of gabby ( most people can't kick it as far as my first touch) agbonlahor. Why take tishbola and adomah off and leave bacuna on? We will never be a good side with bacuna on the pitch. Why give Davis 4 minutes? As much as I hate to say it, we aren't going up this year and that might be a good thing. Another 18 months in this league to get the squad somewhere near premium standard is what's needed. If we went up this year we would be straight back down. Even if the Dr gave us 70 million to spend in the summer (if we went up) I don't think that would buy us enough prem standard players to stay up. So Bruce is the answer in the long term, he's proven. We just need time.

14 Jan 2017 19:31:09
Disgraceful performance. Another poor first 60 minutes and only average after that. Mid table is best we can hope for this season. Bruce and Xia really have got their work cut out to get us out of this division.

14 Jan 2017 19:31:04
surely now even bruce can see we need major improvement,

i fully back the man but how 14 days into a transfer window have we only just loaned a keeper?

really need a solid cb (dont think baker is good enough)

need a better rb

at leats 2 cm's

and would even stretch as far as say let mcormack go and get in 2 strikers

14 Jan 2017 20:24:28
Good post mate but baker didn't play today, implies your moaning for moaning sake when you don't even know the team that played. Before you say you knew he didn't play, you didn't because baker and Chester played 11 games together and lost 1.

14 Jan 2017 20:48:06
i never said he did play i just think him and chester are meant to be our main two at the back but think he's dodgy and very prone to mistakes.

14 Jan 2017 20:58:59
What an silly thing to say strikes. Did you even watch the game.
I beleive Bruce is the right man to get us back to the prem but it won't be this season.

Start recruiting now and in the summer then win league next season
Keep the faith. Up the villa.
Ps I agree was dire today but let's learn from it this isn't Bruce's team he's inherited it.

14 Jan 2017 21:43:28
As I said strikes "prone to mistakes" yet lost 1 of 11 together with Chester, good one๐Ÿ‘ If you watched them you'd understand the defence is the last of our worries, losing 1-0 to a goalkeeper mistake.

The midfield is our problem, we didn't create one chance - that comes first. Then there's putting the chances away, had they been made i wouldn't trust Gabby to put them away, so after the midfield we need a striker. Last on the list would be a right back, Hutton for all his effort isn't the greatest, maybe because his the only right back we have maybe because he just isn't that good, we won't know until we sign another to push him.

14 Jan 2017 19:02:07
If this is what we have got then Omg we're not getting promoted. I would suggest a complete overhaul is required.

New CB
New right back
2 x new CM
New left winger
2 x new strikers

14 Jan 2017 19:32:29
Get rid of Bruce and get rowett in now!
Another terrible performance this can't go on.
Never been a fan of Bruce and his awful football.
We are not getting any better.

14 Jan 2017 19:37:00
think left winger can be fixed by playing grealish, green or murphy for a change instead of "bacant"

14 Jan 2017 20:18:02
Typical sack the manager comment of some people!

Try facing facts the players aren't performing!

14 Jan 2017 20:22:43
Please don't entertain the sack the manager stuff.

14 Jan 2017 20:32:30
cant even begin to blame bruce for the result. he's been given rubbish players to work with soon as he start bringing in his players we might get somewhere

14 Jan 2017 18:26:06
Imagine selling gustede and then deciding to spend a whole half crossing the ball to a front line smaller than 6 foot, beggars belief.

14 Jan 2017 18:28:58
What is with all the long balls in the first 20 mins? . anyone would think we still have gestede!

Have looked slightly better once we get the ball on the ground, defence looks very ropey. we miss baker

Bruce probably needs to change it up at half time

14 Jan 2017 18:20:50
We need reinforcements soon. Patently obvious midfield not upto it and desperately short of a striker. By the time Kodjia returns we could be in a relegation battle.
Bruce has been lucky so far but his luck is running out, fast!

14 Jan 2017 00:56:49
So people this week we lost a legend and a great man. I want us all to share our memorys and things we loved about the legend that was GRAHAM TAYLOR. Mine was after the Birmingham City away game, where we lost his interview was brilliant he was fuming.

I mean people say there fans but he really was. He was shouting and said what i got to say is for them lot in there and he can't forgive that performance. The result was bad but I loved the guys passion he cared. Please share your moments not matter what club or country he managed.

14 Jan 2017 07:30:57
Mine is a personal memory.
In 2004 I was running the London marathon for a charity called sense, and as it turns out, so was Graham Taylor!

Cutting a very long boring story short, after a meeting, and training session in Birmingham uni, with the charity, I met him in the changing room. My running partner was and still is my station officer, I'm a fireman in Leicester, and he had whooped my ass all day, I was knackered, broken and angry! Graham came in, saw my Aston Villa tattoo, and spoke to me!

Big mistake! He was the villa manager at the time, we where playing shite, I was like a bear with a sore head, and he got both barrels!
The fact he couldn't stop laughing at me, this half naked oaf who could hardly stand giving him hell didn't help!

Anyway, after I calmed down, on his suggestion, he had dinner with me and my colleague (a bloody Cov fan) and we swapped email address and mobile numbers.

I came home, told my dad the next day about all this, and my dad being the villa fan was amazed! He suggested to ask if graham would be interested in running in a local half marathon with us, to use as training for the upcoming race.

Was a very little know run for a local charity, only about 30 runners, and the ex England manager in it would really help. So I emailed him. Within ten mins he had rang me!

He arranged to come down for the weekend, staying in a local hotel, run the race, he had Sunday dinner at my parents home with my family and my parents. he stayed for a few drinks after on the Sunday and went home!

We remained email friends, the odd catch up, funny email as people do, but nothing extreme. I wouldn't say I was a friend of mr Taylor, but I did briefly know him, and saw the generosity and warmth of a great man.

Even taking the villa link away, I found him an incredible man. so funny, warm and open. He offered my dad and me tickets to a match as his guests, we turned them down as we didn't want him thinking any of this had been for our benefit. he understood, and suggested he sponsored me for the marathon.

I said yes. the amount he put wasn't life changing, but it did add a zero, and blew me away. I personally will miss him, and find the world a lesser place now he has gone.
Rip sir.

14 Jan 2017 09:56:40
That's Brilliant Flackie, and to think you hadn't mentioned this on here until now, just shows you wasn't in it for any personal gain. Fair play mate!

14 Jan 2017 10:27:27
The best post I've ever seen on here Flacks fair play to you and your parents.

14 Jan 2017 10:33:08
Flackie, that's the most enjoyable thing I've ever read on here.

14 Jan 2017 10:29:38
The guy was a star mate.
And so funny!

14 Jan 2017 10:59:05
Thanks guys, just shows the measure of the man. I feel very lucky to of met the real person.

Brought back some good memories writing it down!

14 Jan 2017 11:32:18
