I think a word of praise should be given Mr Cleverley.
Our useless manager seems determined to waste £7 million quid of the club's money on the crablike midfield player. But, the player himself seems to want to save Lambert from himself by not agreeing to the move
Well played Tom
Could you persuade Gabby and Nzogbia to tear up their contracts while you are at it ?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Only Gabby and the Zog? There are others but I can't be bothered to list the culprits.
Personally I agree about not staying. He has not added anymore than my old Mom could. Bye bye Tom.

Agree0 Disagree0

I couldn't be bothered to list them all either mate
I've never felt so low about the state of my team
Lambert and Lerner have taken joy out out of watching them and I don't even get excited at the prospect of any new signing that Lambert makes, as going on percentages, I know they will be poor.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Mendax,
It appears that we are struggling to find £3m for Sinclair. Is it because he is not rated and if so why are we bothering or is it because Lerner has closed his purse AGAIN after the purchase of Gil?
PL is restricted by the yankie that he must be frustrated beyond belief and regardless of this he will never win back the fans.
Wouldn't it be great if suddenly our invisible owner decided that he wanted a successful team and told PL that he had £25m to spend on a couple of quality, proven players?
Many posters will state that they would not trust the manager with that amount to spend but unless he gets the real money we will never know.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest mate, I'm one of those who would not trust this manager with any real money
Case in point being Sinclair; I work opposite an Albion fan and she maintains he was woeful in his stint at Albion last year
The ideal scenario would be that Lerner sells and Lambert is sacked but I'd settle for Lambert being sacked for now

Agree1 Disagree0

Ain't going to happen.

Pool are willing to let the other Lambert go and probably for very little?
He is a straight out and out centre forward who can score a lot of goals and that is what we need. A elder citizen but still capable. Gets in the box and works the keeper.
Could we use him as both Weimann & Gabby don't seem to be able to find the net?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

I think that's a great move.
I personally hope they give us him, plus cash for Big Ben and Delph.
Big Ben, lost his threat, no movement and cold light of day, he is there to score.
Delph, love him but he won't stay, why would he?? Would you?? Cash in and spend on a replacement, NOT cleverly. Guile and fight needed.
Hate the bloke, but joey Barton would bring what we lack

Agree1 Disagree2

It does not make a lot of difference how good the centre forward is you have to get the ball to them to score goals Oldvillan, and up to now we have not been able to do that for Benteke.

Agree0 Disagree1

Flackie, you are joking aren't you !!

Agree0 Disagree2

I agree villa DAVE, I can see why he's got a name like Flakie !

Agree1 Disagree1

Lambert is far more mobile than Ben!
It always looks like Ben would rather be somewhere other than in claret & blue. He makes himself available but does he actually hunt the ball?

Agree2 Disagree0

I'm not joking!! And sadly that is my real name!!
Look in an ideal world, Lerner would wake up, invest, or do one, lambert would be gone, Big Ben would be the player from two years ago, and the club wouldn't of let our best players contract, not to mention our captains as well run to the last few months.
Big Ben is always flat footed now, never on his toes. Never looks for space, and when he does its near the half way line. He can't shoot playing this way, let alone score.
Delph has gone in the summer. Does it mean let him go for free then? Or get something now! I know what I would do.
So if a club is willing to take our misfiring striker, and the player, (our best player agreed) who will go for nowt in four months, give us a goal scoring England international and cash. Is that not good business??

Joey Barton?! I agree to an extent not him. But a player of that like. Darren fletcher??

I didn't want or mean to create an argument. Although I don't post a lot, I'm always here. Have been a season ticket holder for 30 years. And this, right now, is the worst team I have ever seen.
I won't give up on them, even if the worst happens, but we are all entitled to an opinion!!
By the way, I don't miss a game, think I have missed 3 since I've been going. Two for a family loss, and one sadly because I got married! Should of gone that day!!
And I live in leicester!
What I'm trying to say is! We are all committed to this club, in location, through family, through blood. We have a right to be angry, to demand better! But if we argue between us, we lose the voice we have!
Up the villa!!
Nick

Agree2 Disagree0

Well stated Flackie. Reasonable review of the current situation.
Only problem is that PL will not be sacked or resign.

Agree2 Disagree0

Fackie.
Sorry mate I should have been more specific with my reply to you.
I meant you are joking about Lambert for Benteke, I like Lambert but would prefer to stick with Benteke to be honest.
If we can improve our link up play by means of a good no 10 he will start soring again.
Delph I would let go tomorrow and Gabby and enzog.

Agree1 Disagree0

How about Ben & Lambert up front? This could be a very attractive option. Ben taking the defenders away giving Lambert the space.

Agree0 Disagree1

Problem is Big Ben is flat footed, he has lost interest, desire and belief, now to me this is the coaches fault,
I would let him leave, take the money, and lambert. Now this is two pronged for me. We have a good striker out injured, it would show we are standing by him, give him desire to get back, and a willingness to deliver for a club that has stood by him. Lambert although not a great player is a good goal scorer, fits us perfectly.
Watch Big Ben today. I pray to good he proves me wrong. But sadly he won't.
If he does, and scores the winner I pledge £25 to acorns!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Flackie.
You have made some very good points, and thank god somebody else has mentioned the coaching.

Agree1 Disagree0

Big Ben, was better today, but still in my opinion was a half measured attempt. But. Should, could and in my opinion of old would of had a hat trick today.
A goal scorer would.

If we don't make a change now, then we may as well go.

New signing was a breath of fresh air! Superb. How long till we coach out his pace, passing and movement??

I suggest a stand. Not stay away for 8 minutes!!
We all take our seats, and on kick off, turn our backs, chanting, "Lerner out, lambert out, or we want our villa back!"
This will be seen and noted!
We need to stand together as one!
I'm angry, scared for our future, and embarrassed for the poor players.

Enough is enough

Agree1 Disagree0

I meant to say, we keep our backs turned for the eight minutes

Agree1 Disagree1

I am voting with my feet mate, I have saved £235 since saying I would not go again till Lambert has gone.
I posted 2nd Jan that I felt Lambert will be gone somewhere round about the hull game, I still think this can happen, so I am crossing my fingers.
Trouble is who then !!!!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I know what you mean! We missed our chance with pulis. Would of been ideal.

I'm thinking curbishley, or someone like that. Ex player, club at heart, and needs a new challenge.

I would love to get redknap but I know that won't happen, as qpr won't sack and he and villa fans don't see eye to eye!! Lol
