is paddy riley still at villa an if so WHY?

13 Jul 2016 20:44:53
Good question.

13 Jul 2016 20:48:55
Surely he has left, hasn't he?

13 Jul 2016 21:10:53
I thought he'd gone to bally james duff!

14 Jul 2016 14:15:19
He must just sit at his desk chewing pencils all day.

13 Jul 2016 13:20:52
Afternoon guys does anyone think balotelli worth a punt on loan witt a view to sign him permently if we go up also danny ings and andre gray from burnly what do u think also a creative nud ravel morrison.

{Ed001's Note - yes. I think you should do whatever it takes to sign Balotelli on a permanent deal immediately.....}

13 Jul 2016 15:14:28
villa80 you must live in a wonderful world. You do realise that we got relegated last season and are now playing in the Championship?
Ed001 I assume you are a Liverpool fans?

{Ed001's Note - yep, hence why I desperately want rid of Mario.}

13 Jul 2016 15:15:14
You want rid by any chance ed? 😎😎.

{Ed001's Note - I will piggyback him down to Brum if it will help?}

13 Jul 2016 15:33:38
Why not try an get him on loan if no one wants him there's no harm trying is they how do u know if u don't ask . if they say no then so be it move on to nxt player i'd ask to get him on loan . ud be a fool not to ask . i know we are down but if u want to come bck up u need good players an plus u go for a loan deal.

{Ed001's Note - because he would not have any interest in dropping down a division.}

13 Jul 2016 16:29:11
I suggested Balotelli before last season mate, don't go there, I thought he might have 1 last shot at being the player he should be, got accused of being a nose, a scouser, all sorts.

UTV.

13 Jul 2016 16:51:10
In a word "NO"
In a few words, "What are you thinking about man? If the world was covered in piss and Balotelli lived in a tree, I still wouldn't go near him"

13 Jul 2016 18:13:24
Mendax that's the best quote ever! Lol.

13 Jul 2016 18:52:31
We have a similar saying in ireland for ugly birds. 'If I had a garden full of mickeys I wouldn't throw her one' lol.

13 Jul 2016 18:59:11
You've come up with a few corkers yourself Flackie.

13 Jul 2016 19:36:36
Where has villa 80 come from he is a right dreamer. As if Andre gray or Ings are going to drop back into championship! Is it a new profile of King villa?

13 Jul 2016 19:59:16
He's just expressing an opinion for us to talk about, and naming players that are better than what we've got, I never dreamed that someone like Carew would come to Villa, he did and he loved it, being in the championship don't help, but think a few on here are aiming too low on the caliber of player we can get, money talks, why would Pelle or Hulk go to a tin pot league in China if it weren't for the money? Ambition? They're all looking for a pay day, get over it and get the best we can get

UTV.

13 Jul 2016 20:40:40
Suppose your right allyp 72

I think we should try line up like this next year

Neuer

Bellerin silva pique Alba

Pogba iniesta

Ronaldo messi bale

Aguero.

13 Jul 2016 20:48:04
Ally I agree mate, but seriously! 'Why always me? '
We can aim higher than that!

His ability is good, not incredible, his mental state is 'one flew over the cuckoos nest', his uncanny way to destroy a dressing room is world class!

We really need another of those?
Gabby, Richards, Klingon, okore, and him! Jesus, channel 5 would want to put in cctv and broadcast it!

13 Jul 2016 20:50:26
Allyp1972 you seem to be labouring under the illusion that some of us think we shouldn't go for Balotelli as he's too good for us, when the reality is we shouldn't go for Balotelli because he's not good enough for us!
Messi might be stretching it, but we can do better than a sulking lump of trouble with delusions of grandeur and a non-existent work ethic.

13 Jul 2016 21:04:31
Dan, I agree with your team, only I would have gustede up top! .

13 Jul 2016 21:26:16
This is old news as regards Ballotelli, I suggested his name before last season, my 1st choice would've been Mario Gomez at that time, was easily gettable, we ended up with Ayew and Gestede, we ended up getting relegated. We were optimistic under TS, my angle was that he could maybe do what he did with Adebeyor at Spurs with Ballottelli, a gamble, a a punt. Not to single (double? ) you out Mendax and Flackie, but I haven't seen you name any strikers that we should go for? Only 1's we shouldn't go for? and I'll bet that if you reply to this, you still won't name 1?

UTV.

13 Jul 2016 21:34:24
Apologies Flackie, you said RVP, I could live with that, think he'll be off to China 1st chance he gets though

UTV.

13 Jul 2016 21:34:49
Personally I think maccormack, and Shane long.
Would love Big Ben back! But not a chance!

13 Jul 2016 21:55:36
Shane Long ticks all the boxes, all round striker, I hope Saints spend big on a striker and that puts him down the pecking order, I'd go £15M for him and be worth every penny, keep Hutton away from him though lol 👍🏻

UTV.

13 Jul 2016 22:03:21
That one was a little pipe dream, sadly!

13 Jul 2016 22:22:55
Keep the faith, I think we're going to be pleasantly surprised, RDM's no mug, he's got someone mind blowing lined up I'm sure 🤔

UTV.

13 Jul 2016 22:26:37
Lol I forgot about that!

13 Jul 2016 23:05:33
No, I'm not going to name one. Just to make you feel good
(I could do if I wanted though)
Hopefully, a professional football club with a global scouting system will be able to find one or two strikers who would be better than anyone you can randomly name off the top of your head.

14 Jul 2016 09:03:41
Why oh why do we keep on naming players that will not, repeat not play for us in a month of Sunday's

Balotelli
Benteke
Shane Long
Danny Ings

Let's just keep dreaming .

We're in the championship! The modern day premier league footballers, are nothing more than glorified pampered pre madonnas . Who do not want to drop down and play in a lower league as they are too good for it apparently.

If we can get Ayew to stay and pair him with this fella from Bristol City "Kodjia" I think we have enough to score week in week out.

The strikers we have at the club Ayew, Gestede, Kozak and potentially Kodjia will all score goals . Aslong as they get the right supply to them .

Our problem in the premier league was no supply to the strikers and a total inhability to defend .

Get rid of

Klingon
Richards
Flabby
Bacuna
Sinclair
Westwood
Sanchez

I would bring in

Lewis Dunk (CB) from Brighton
Will Hughes (CM) from Derby! Nigel Pearson will never sell him to us
Nakhi Wells (Striker) from Huddersfield

All championship proven players who have undoubted ability.

14 Jul 2016 09:29:00
Totally agree, proven players at this level who have scope to develop should we gain promotion.

Both Dunk and Hughes would be difficult signings but let's be honest, we are the biggest club that's ever been in this division - If Villa come calling I'm sure both players would force a move.

For me a striker, a RB and creative MF should be priority, if we can sign quality in those areas and get rid of the dregs like Lescott, Gabby and Richards we should be set for a promotion push. Keeping the likes of Amavi, Okore, Gueye, Vertout and Ayew need to be prioritised as well. It looks like RDM has created a great team spirit so maybe, just maybe, these players might give us another year.

14 Jul 2016 09:46:11
Can't wait to see how all this plays out. 🤔

Having just read the Wolves takeover story in the evening mail it is clear to see how the Evening mail do not like Aston Villa. The Wolves report is poditive, clear and bright with a definate potential new owner highlighted and his background looked at indepth. In contrast the Villa reports were scetchy, unreliable and almost always negative! Anyway that aside i wish Wolves good luck, it is a grand old club like Villa and deserves some good fortune.

13 Jul 2016 10:17:56
Collymore sacked on talk sport!
Only the drive time pillock to go, and the station might be worth a listen again!

13 Jul 2016 11:11:07
Stan is controversial and funny.

13 Jul 2016 15:30:46
He's definitely something beginning with C and Fu, but I certainly wasn't thinking those descriptions were Controversial or Funny.

13 Jul 2016 16:32:12
Met the guy once, he was a gent

I once spent an hour in Waitrose in Lichfield helping him to buy cheese for a New Years party as the only thing he appeared to be familiar with was Cheddar. Bought me a bottle of Champers for my trouble - which was nice - but apart from that I can't say I've ever been terribly impressed either on or off the pitch.

13 Jul 2016 09:38:13
Don't understand why people are so anti Gana, he was one of the standout players last season and compared to Kante. Would be great if we could keep him provided he doesn't lose interest.

13 Jul 2016 10:17:01
Shhhhhh!

13 Jul 2016 20:41:19
People should be impressed because it is known for diverse wildlife, old forts and secluded beaches, as well as impressive colonial buildings and castles-turned-museums that serve as reminders of the dark days of the slave trade. North of Cape Coast, vast Kakum National Park has a treetop-canopy walkway over the rainforest.

Oh, sorry, that’s Ghana.

13 Jul 2016 08:26:26
How would people feel about this? I don't really see Gueye staying but if he does this is how I'd line up - What you think?

Gollini

Christie - Elphick - Okore - Amavi

- Gueye - Tshibola -

El Ghazi - Vertout - Grealish

- Ayew -

El Ghazi would be a massive signing, probably being overly optimistic that we could sign him if we could, for me that is a Championship winning 11.

Add to that a bench of Steer, Hutton, Clarke, Baker, Toner, Bennet, Westwood, Petrov, Gardner, Green, Adama, Gestede, Kodjia.

13 Jul 2016 08:29:21
Not bad at all.

13 Jul 2016 20:07:08
I'd like to see mccormack on that list.

right people i go everywhere watching aston villa not many grounds i havnt been to so my question to you all apart from villa park what's your fav ground you been to?

{Ed007's Note - Come up to Celtic Park for a European night and you won't know what's hit you. I've been over to watch Dortmund a few times and that's brilliant but being at a St Pauli match is different class -I recommend everyone goes to Germany for a match, even as a stag do in the Reeperbhan and take in a match. I was in the Bernabeu in '83 just after the World Cup but it was just a tour, I'd love to go to a match there though.
I've been to Old Trafford, Highbury, Anfield, Ayersome Park, Goodison, St James Park over the years and Stamford Bridge which is interesting if you're a Celtic fan and like getting hit with golf balls and folk throwing bottles of piss over your Mrs. That was nothing compared to the coppers in Vigo or the bouncers in Cardiff!
English grounds are a bit of a joke now with all the tourists and prawn sandwich brigade, sitting there with their ******** hipster beards, wife, kids and a selfie stick. Even the last time I was at Celtic Park I looked about me and wanted to puke at the people I seen. You know the type, they sit and tut if someone shouts or tries to start a tune - and God forbid you swear!
Celtic have got a safe standing section opening this coming season where our Ultras and fans that want to sing etc will be based and I'm hoping that helps with the week to week atmosphere - we still can't buy a beer in the ground up here btw.
Do you think Ehglish football is ready for safe standing areas in grounds, or any other suggestions on how to get grounds rocking again? I got a bit carried away there mate, sorry lol but it's something that really gets my back up as you can see.
One of the first dates I took my Mrs on was a Celtic v Hearts cup semi final outing and she turned up with a daft pair of sandals on, I told her she better buy better shoes when we get to Edinburgh and when she asked why I pointed at the sandals and told her 'because you'll never out run the police wearing them'.

13 Jul 2016 08:11:33
Have heard that St Pauli is quality too and as cheap as chips.
San Siri was good, flares and all apart from the coins after the final whistle.
Exactly right about English grounds getting o hot dog roll that has had the sausage removed and a turd put in its place thrown at you at Anfield ain't the best.
More safe standing areas has got to happen the sooner the better.

13 Jul 2016 08:14:11
The Bernabeau for El Clasico when Guardiola was in charge of Barcelona and Mourinho for Real. One of best nights I've ever had.

13 Jul 2016 08:28:47
West ham away for me I have the upmost respect for them. Getting relegated and still having 30k+ at home games says a lot about the club and it's fans been there that many times I've lost count also the old Highbury I liked too especially in 1981 🕒⚽.

13 Jul 2016 08:32:40
The giant axe is awesome when full on a local derby night especially v morecambe.

13 Jul 2016 16:05:53
Portman Road, Ipswich on a wet Tuesday night in the late 70’s having just lost 1-0 in the League Cup because, as we all know, there’s nothing better than being stuck 4 hours away from home (the A14 was a single-track road then) in the pouring rain at the end of a narrow defeat knowing that when you get home at 2am, you’ve still got to get up for work in the morning where you will then be mercilessly taunted by blue-noses.
