Use our rumours form to send us aston villa transfer rumours.

Do you think that aston villa strikers are all so good that rdm don't really want to drop any so his trying to play them all and its actually effecting our formation and style of play? Fact is that 6 games in and we only won 1 that is know where near good enough. Somebody said on here dr. tony knows nothink about football well his spent the most in the whole league he deserves to go up and iam sorry but if villa don't start wining games action has to be taken. dr. tony is right 1 game is unlucky not 2 3 or even 4. Sir alex Ferguson once said you make your own luck in football. football is a results business Aston Villa and newcastle are billionares they should be blowing these teams away. people saying we are playing well but not that well we are not scoring enough an concedeing to many it makes me sick that the blues are highier than us! his had 6 games won 1 if it gets 2 11games and we still only won 1 i would sack him we can't afford to wait an hope it turns around we need to be in the premiership his had everybody he wants in the market so no excuses! get us up or we will find some1 who can get us up! hit that disagree button doesn't matter dr. tony agrees!

I'm sorry but if you get rid of RDM now it would be a disaster. I said this once before, many of the players we have bought have been thrown straight in. We also have had a bout of minor injuries lately.

It is still too early to panic. You criticized RDM most of the transfer window and he proved you wrong, I said give him time and he did great and it is the same on the pitch.

I agree that its way too early to panic. But I disagree that it would be a disaster to sack RDM now.
But whatever you and I think is irrelevant. Its what the Doctor thinks that matters.
He's highly ambitious and has invested a massive sum of money in our club already. He's also promised to spend a lot more.
Dr. Xia is a very successful man and I'm sure that he would say to any of us that success doesn't come to those that sit and wait for it to happen.
He strikes me as quite impatient!

IMO our attack would be far more potent if we were a bit quicker and more direct.
Grealish although playing better is very predictable and takes far too long doing what he is doing if that makes sense, on current form I think Ayew gets the nod, problem is he needs to be more of a team player and be aware of players in space.
Ayew should be better when his mate Adomah is in the side, and follow his example, then watch us improve as a team
Midfield is shocking and needs to be changed ASAP, Westwood is dreadful and needs to warm the bench for a while, I feel Gardener will be another academy player that flatters to deceive, and will fall short of all of our expectations, I can`t put my finger on it but he lacks something!
McCormack will be a very good player for us, but I feel he is wasted taking corners etc, and he needs to play alongside a good burley striker like Kodjia and to form a two pronged attack.
So I would go:
STEER (give a chance)
De Laet,
Elphick,
Chester,
Amavi
Jedinak,
Tshibola,
Adomah, Ayew Kodjia
McCormack

Bench:
Gollini
Hutton
Bacuna
Baker
Grealish
Green
Gestede.

It is a tough one Dave, which I suppose is a good problem to have when you have too many players to choose from in attack, but Grealish has scored 2 with 1 assist and Gestede is top goal scorer thus far with 3.

I actually like our set up on Sunday up front. If we have Jedinak in front of the back four we will have extra strength and won't have Gardner needlessly giving the ball away in our half which led to a goal. If we have Tshibola in place of Westwood, I feel Grealish wasn't getting the ball quick enough because the midfield link up play was too slow (Westwood takes for ever to make decisions) and then Grealish has no space. Tshibola moves the ball up much quicker so we can counter quickly with our full attacking force.

We then put Gestede on as an impact player depending on which one of front four is lacking, which will vary game by game. The good thing is we have versatility up front. Ayew can play wing or striker, McCormack can play number 10 or striker and Grealish can play wing or number 10. This gives us tactical options to move players around to put Gestede on as an impact striker. Only problem is I have no idea what to do with Adomah.

Lastly we had some attackers missing sitters, I think they all will have there eye in soon and conversion rates will be much better and some poor team is going to get and absolute hiding.

Hi VillaSA, you seem to be in agreement with me about our speed going forward?
The point you make about Gardener giving the ball away, how will Jedinak playing stop Gardener giving the ball away.
About Grealish, yes he has two goals but over a season I think Adomah would score and create a lot more.
It`s only my opinion, over the years we have had so many young players promise so much yet deliver so little.
I am more than happy with the squad we have and think we can push on, but Grealish needs to mix it up a bit and be quicker about it in my book.

12 Sep 2016 21:35:37
Yes I am in agreement. Well my point about Gardner is he should be on the bench with westwood. Jedinak and Tshibola should be starters as Gardner gave the ball away constantly. I don't see Jedinak doing the same. The only think I disagree with is Grealish being predictable. He was hampered as the midfield was slow in getting the ball to him. If we look at the Rotherham match Grealish was very dangerous as he was getting more time and space.

The other issue is Adomah plays on the right so if Grealish is benched, who plays on the left. Otherwise I think your spot on. But once again just my opinion mate.

12 Sep 2016 23:22:11
I agree about quickening the attack Dave. Not about Steer though
I don't see point of replacing a keeper who has largely been criticised on a shortage of inexperience rather than ability and replacing him with a keeper with less experience.

13 Sep 2016 08:08:04
I agree ayew can be a little greedy, however saying he isn't a team player I think ia wrong, pretty sure he set up both goals on Sunday,

13 Sep 2016 11:07:37
How about playing Amavi on the left in front of Cissokho chaps? Move Grealish into the CM with Jedinak and Tshibola behind him.
Drop Westwood and Gardener to bench.

Anyone else seen theReo-Coker link?

12 Sep 2016 18:44:37
Tony dispelled it as a rumour already.

12 Sep 2016 21:41:27
This would be a real backward step.
I just hope that Dr Xia has killed the idea.

13 Sep 2016 01:04:13
If its a backward step then that'll be us then! joking aside surely we need to do a couple of double training sessions to get the boys clicking, i guarantee those sessions would soon get them onboard, if not because they genuinely want to, but more over those lazy buggers won't want their social calender shot to pieces, sounds mad but that's the bubble they live in! basically-kick their arses from pillar to post, watch them get with the plan!

12 Sep 2016 11:27:20
Even though its good our attacking options are improving, the old adage, goals win you games, defences win you titles still applies, even more so in this league, so if you think the defensive aspect to our game is chugging along nicely, then you're incorrect because we're going to get dismantled against the better teams. we need a defensive co-ordinator as a priority.

12 Sep 2016 10:07:36
So after 6 games we are destined to languish in the championship for decades? NO. I have seen more attacking play and chances created since dare I say it MON was in charge. I left my seat with "what a load of muck" being muttered by someone around me. WHAT! The players are together on the pitch just look at the celebrations after the goals and the crowd were brilliant again. The post and bar have been our opponents best defenders so far this season and teams cannot handle the 3 players behind the front man. Jedinak and Tsh will be shoe ins when fit and this will further improve the performances. At 2-1 we all thought we'd win players and fans. The team stopped attaching when we were unplayable going forward, and we like them sat back and waited for the 3 points. When they scored Jed was stripped maybe he should have come on earlier, maybe we should have kept going at them and got a 3rd? Either way we ain't playing like a team sitting 17th looking over our shoulder. We are playing like a team who are looking up and fearing nobody. UTV.

12 Sep 2016 11:00:52
I think we are playing well and not getting points which is a bad sign because what happends when you have off days which we know they will come?

12 Sep 2016 11:16:16
This is a good post Jam Dog you're seeing things in a positive way.
However we only have 6 points . We have won once in the league and in our previous game we collapsed at Bristol City. We played well for45 minutes against Huddersfield and let them back into the game.
So yes, there are positive signs and we are much more attractive to watch than for several years. A good run is just around the corner surely.
However most fans can see that we clearly have a problem with midfield. Westwood is nowhere near good enough for a team aspiring to be promoted. Gardener neither, yet. Jedinak we've not seen yet and Tshibola is a great prospect but young, having only played 6 times last season.
So I feel that the outlook is good yes but we must address the midfield problem very soon or we may just leave our promotion push a little too late.

12 Sep 2016 18:58:40
How is it a bad sign, 'playing well and not getting points'? Would you rather have us play badly and not get points. For me it is a sign that the team is on the verge of gelling and things didn't fall for us.

12 Sep 2016 01:38:55
from what dr. tony has said on twitter he is furious we didn't win again his spent a fortune we should be wining its like what he put on twitter bad look is 1 game not 2 or 3 or 4. Rdm watch your back 6 games 1 win is not acceptable tony xia wants to go up you have 5 games i say if we will only have 1 win in 11 then the mad doctor will sack you! before you all disagree check his twitter he don't want excuses he wants results! 4 me bham city ent spent nothink really nor hudderfield but there up there the mad doctor won't put up with it!

12 Sep 2016 11:10:16
The whole Twitter thing was good in the transfer window and for building a bond with the fans but one thing it does make evident is that he knows nothing about football.
