Good choices boys. Hard to pick a top fave but I loved the 3rd div game against Bournemouth. 48000 crowd in the old third division was simply unbelievable. Electric atmosphere.
5.1 against Liverpool on a Wednesday night was good too. 1976 I think.

Andy, I still have the newspaper report of the Liverpool game. AWSOME.

11 Nov 2016 15:29:37
Sounds absolutely amazing mate. We truly have the best fans in the world Brighton and Leeds are now a sell out. All sound like great games and love to hear about the attendances i also love all the old songs we used to sing. Iam sure as fans the songs were better in them days rather than now or that's just me getting old.

Mine is the same as you Andy, what a night, I have it in my profile for this site.
Ray Clemence stated after the game that it was the best 45 minutes of football he had seen from a team in his life.
We were fantastic.

Was this the day that Shankly said it was hard to play against a defensive team?

11 Nov 2016 17:32:30
My first vist to villa park 1972 i was on 8yrs old, villa beat Hull 2-0 Ray Graydon scored a penalty. I then wrote to him, he wrote back with a signed letter and picture. I was hooked, Villa forever.

Yeah they were fun days. Many of the old games from those days are on YouTube including the 1972 Bournemouth game.
Watch the crowd when Andy Lochhead scores! Amazing. And it wasn't the Holte either it was the Witton end prior to the North Stand being built.
That 48,116 attendance was a record that stood for quite a few years.
Unfortunately the Liverpool hammering wasn't televised.

Just one more game, before we leave All Our Yesterdays!
It was a League Cup semi final 2nd leg against Man Utdin December1970. There was an incredible 62,500 rammed inside Villa Park. The atmosphere was touchable quite incredible. Check it out on youtube.

being only 36 i don't really remember all that champs league win so for me its got to be the league cup wins vs 94 or 96. can't remember the year but think it was oct 09 when we beat chealsea and not just beat them but was a bloody good game too and being the only villa fan in a group of chelsea/ utd/ bindippers/ arsenal fans its not often i get to gloat.

2 of my favs of recent times. Old Trafford won 1-0 first date with my Mrs. Also enjoyed Everton away won 3-2 backed sidwell first goal an before I got to my seat I'd won bet. Klingon equalised for them on 90th min only for Ashley Young to get a late winner
What a game.

Been a season ticket holder for 30 years
Stood on the holte end on a milk crate
When the score board was the bulbs no LED then
Saw league champions
Saw european cup well listened on BRMB with Tony Butler
But
Wed 20 Jan 2010 Villa v Blackburn
6-4 on the night
I still have the picture on my phone the TV screens in the stadium
"Please leave the stadium carefully
And make your way to Wembley
That was a night
Even better than 5-1 over blues.

Gotta be the 2-0 down at half time to Arsenal, the Father Xmas parachute incident, winning 3-2, and although if my memory serves me, he didn't score but Collymores best 45 minutes as a Villa player, only thing to come close to that was Cahills overhead kick in the 5-1 against the nose, never been in the Holte and known a goal celebrated by us in there like that PERIOD, my brother ended up from where we sit in BB, down to about row C on the steps behind the goal, just swept away by the crowd going mental

UTV.

Easy one. October 21st 1981. Dynamo Berlin 1 Tony Morley 2.

15 Nov 2016 17:32:43
Everton away, Ashley young scoring to make it 3-2 sticks in my memory.

Richards to become a turkey.
Sorry, will play in Turkey.
What a great move for us.
Many will be happy to send him on his way and even make him a food hamper to take with him.
How much will we save on his pay, can't call it earnings?
Also can we get a fee for him and if so how much?
Any fee plus pay saved will help Bruce in January.
Who else do we anticipate leaving?
With the exception of some of the recent summer signings are there any that could be on the shopping list of other championship clubs. Unlikely to be on prem targets and none would go down a division.

I'd like someone to take Westwood, Agbonlahor Richards and Cissokho off our hands.
Then replace them with 3 top quality signings. A full back and 2 midfielders.
If we are in contention for promotion by January this will make us more attractive to would-be signings. With Dr Xia smelling possible promotion too I'm sure he would splash the required cash for quality signings.
So keep up the great work SB . Fingers crossed, in January it could be lift off. 😄.

No point in selling cissoko unless we're replacing him, his good cover for Amavi.

11 Nov 2016 15:55:28
Can't we loan Richards to a team in Syria.

13 Nov 2016 07:48:51
have read Pat Murphy reported on the beeb that our dealings in the window will be minimal due to FFP.

13 Nov 2016 08:35:43
I'm not sure, but I think ffp has been relaxed for this season.

13 Nov 2016 10:28:07
We've still got room to make a few, Jordan Rhodes on loan will be the big one I think.
