Di Matteo now odds on to be our next manager- let's not forget he's won a Champions League! By far, the most successful that's been linked to us and if the new owners are getting this kind of manager in for a Championship club, I'm excited!

Like you say, been on the ropes so long clarity is what we need, his record at schalke according to the papers was 5 wins in 17 games in the second half of the season, although the highlight was a 4-3 win at real madrid in the champions league, comments about him say he's someone who commands respect and won't be crossed with (don't they all say that? ), maybe we're going to find out after all, but the obvious question is, does he have good contacts in the game, and can he spot a bargain or two?
One side issue;our old mate henrick amstaldt i see has a new job-in golf, good luck to him, i hope he stays there, at least that way he can't balls up any other football clubs.

I don't think I've seen anyone suggest John Terry to help us through our (hopefully one) Championship season. Any takers?

Can we match his offer of £12m package in China?
New owner could be willing to spend but I doubt they would reach that level.

He's an obnoxious toad but on purely football terms it's a bloody good shout
As for the £12 million China deal, I don't think you'd have to pay anything near that in wages to keep him in the UK.
As a quick fix for our backline in term of attitude and organising those around him, it's a good idea
I bet players like Toner would be praying for it to happen (assuming they have the good sense to be looking at their careers in the long term )

Seems like the avfc website media team has realised nobody wants to hear about the first team squad and have now concentrated their efforts on the promising youth players coming through. I'm anticipating an announcement in new owners a few days after the last game.

I wonder if the chinese are now even more in love with this sceptered isle, this duel in the crown of world democracy and want to buy us even more. now that the Queen has had her little say about them, absolute classic, a basil fawlty/ uncle albert moment if ever i heard one!, just a shame they didn't all say'they don't like it up them Mr. Mannering! 'but there again, bearing in mind royal lineage perhaps not! where's boris when you need him!

Too true after Lizs careless whisper would think our potential Chinese Dynasty will now take away their £100m.

AC Milan want to sign Amavi. I really hope we keep him because he's our only player who showed signs of being a decent PL player.

11 May 2016 10:09:46
sorry but i don't agree with that. ayew with a decent strike partner or midfield supply could have chalked up least twice what he got i bet and gana was the 2nd best defensive midfielder stats wise from what i read only player who won more tackles and got more interceptions was kante of leicester.

If that's the case and the choice is his, then I would assume he's off to the San Siro so he gets to play against Juventus and Roma next season rather than Burton Albion. The only way to keep him under those circumstances would be a shed load of cash or, miraculously, he's fallen in love with the West Midlands and never wants to leave. However, he should be aware that, outside of the dreaming spires of the city centre, Milan ain't all it's cracked up to be.
